"Growing up ain't easy!"----Samantha, aged 16.
As children mature into their teens, a new dynamic between a single parent and their young adult occurs. Along with the normal stresses of being a teenager, having only one parent may not be enough to recognize their increasing needs and pressures. Your teen may have an increased awareness of your own happiness as single parent, being different from their peers, being left alone, and changes in their living situation. These issues can often lead to a teenager becoming involved in unhealthy activities and additional stress for the parent.
PWP is useful resource to both parent and teenager. We can provide useful information, mentorship, emotional support and guidance through these tough years to both parent and teenager.
Becoming involved is easy! Single parents that are interested, should attend a monthly Newcomer Membership Orientation meeting held exclusively for Parents Without Partners.
