Education

Planning fun and educational activities for a single parent can be challenging. Where to go? What to do? And what about the cost? Parents Without Partners team up with local and city institutions to sponsor entertainment that can help bridge the gap between child and parent, and provide a positive learning experience.

FREE COUPLES LINE DANCING LESSONS
Learn how to boot scoot with the best during FREE line Dance lessons at Cadillac. Lessons start at 7:30 PM and Continue until 9:00. After lessons stay and try out your new Moves, or get some dinner at Morretti’s (in the same location).

SMALL DISCOVERIES - WOOLY MAMMOTHS AND MIGHTY MASODONS
Lake County Discovery Museum 27277 N Forest Preserve Rd. Wauconda, IL Learn about the mysterious megafauna (giant animals) Of the Ice Age – many of which lived right here in Lake County! This is an every Weds program during which we explore a Variety of topics through stories, hands-on activities, pretend Play and simple crafts. MAPLE SYRUP HIKES
On the first three Sat and Sun afternoons in March The Lake County Forest Preserve is hosting their annual Maple Syrup Hikes. On this one-hour hike, learn why some trees have Sweet sap and how to tell which trees to tap. Everyone gets a taste. Hikes begin every half-hour. JIM HENSON'S FANTASTIC WORLD
Museum of Science and Industry. Chicago, IL. 847-668-5416 Get a rare peek into the imagination of Jim Henson. A brilliant innovator and the creator of Kermit, Big Bird And other beloved characters. This exhibition features 100 original artworks, including drawings, cartoons and Storyboards that demonstrate Henson’s talent as a story teller. The exhibit also documents Henson’s process of “visual thinking” Through renderings, photographs, documents, puppets and film.

PWP works with a network of proactive educational institutions that understand the need of a single parent to provide educational experiences that are fun for both parent and child.
